It has been over a year since all six of us were together.

Starting in 2020, the six of us became best friends. It’s hard to find couple friends where the wives and husbands get along with each other equally, but in the group, we are all besties. We have lived some really unforgettable moments together and walked through tough things.

In Dec of 2020, we rented a house in Blue Ridge, GA, and had the best long weekend together. We were even able to go back to the same house the following year. Give us some wine and games, and we will laugh all night. We have a group message that the six of us talk in regularly and we named the group “Mountain Top.” Thus the friend group name was born.

Last summer, the Appelo family moved to Boston. We knew it was the right move for them, but saying goodbye to consistently doing life together was really hard. This weekend the six of us (and our kiddos!) were finally back together, which was amazing!

The four babies made for a lot of chaos, but it was the absolute best time together. I can’t wait to see how their little friendships grow over the years. Of course, I had to come up with a name for the kiddos’ group, and I dubbed it “Hill Top.”
