I love making bread! I am definitely not an expect, but I have really enjoyed trying a few different types of breads. My favorite type to make is called Artisan Bread. There are tons of different receipes online, and I have tried a couple different options. All ended up working out great, and I really cannot notice much of a difference.
Mix together
- 3c of all purpose flour
- 1-2tsp of salt
- 3/4 tsp of active dry yeast
- 1 1/2 -2 c of warm water
- (optional) 2tsp of sugar
Mix this together until it is all incorporated. Next, cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let sit for 2-12 hours (honestly, you could have it sit for 24 hours and just knead it a little more).

After your time is up, dump the dough out onto a floured service. Tuck the dough onto its self. Imagine your dough as a square. Take the top edge and fold it into the middle then roatateth dough 25 degrees. Next take the new top side and tick it into the middle. Do this a few times until the dough seems more together. You can also flip it over and do it again.
Take a large sheet of parchment paper and set it on the Dutch oven. Then place your dough right on top. Cover it again with the plastic wrap and set a timer for about thirty minutes. Pre heat your oven to 450 degrees. I like to set my dutch oven on top of my oven as it helps it rise even more. After your time is up, take off the plastic wrap and put the lid on the pot. Place the bread in the oven and set another thirty minute timer. After thirty minutes remove the lid and lower the oven temperature to 400 degrees and wait fifteen minutes.
Now your bread is all done, and your house will smell heavenly! My favorite ways to eat it are fresh out of the oven smeared with butter, and topped with a little salt. It is also great with strawberry preserves on top. You can of course serve it with pasta or soups of any kind, use it to build sandwiches, or put the bread in muffin tins and serve as rolls. The ideas are endless! Enjoy!
I decided to mix it up and made enough loaf of bread, but this time, I made it into a pumpkin! I was inspired by an Instagram post that my MIL sent me from Ashley Lyn Home. All you need is cooking twine and a cinnamon stick to make this loaf extra festive. I do not have a lame (tool used to score bread) and just tried to use a knife. As you can tell, my indentions were not very prominent. This is a fun way to make something so simple a little extra special!
