We all have it. We try not to, but some way or another, it just happend. Yup, I’m talking about the infamous junk drawer.
Our kitchen has only a few drawers, so it is a coveted space. The junk drawer has always bothered me, but recently, it just felt dirty, and I knew it was time to bite the bullet and give it a thorough cleaning. Of course, if I am going to tackle an organization project, it’s got to start with some new acrylic containers. I purchased this set on prime day.
This was the before…

I started by taking everything out of the drawer. Next, I vacuumed out all of the crumbs (and maybe some rogue chocolate chips). I then wiped down the grippy mats that I already had. They are still pretty beat up, but they do the job. Then, I started playing around with what containers I needed and how many. I ended up not using all of the acrylic contains, but I am sure I will use them in other projects.
I started with the biggest items first. Obviously, I needed to put the wraps and baggies in first. I then put my notepads and pack of markers in the largest container. Then, I put the scissors and tape together. I did keep a container of miscellaneous items because that is just practical. The other containers are pretty self-explanatory; I think it will be really easy to keep this drawer organized moving forward!
