Last weekend was my 28th birthday! I love birthdays! Really any reason to celebrate is a good reason to me.
This was my first birthday as a mama, and having Lottie with us just made it all the more special. My mom always makes a fall or Halloween celebration dinner. This year, we had a “fall festival” theme with hot dogs, chili, mac ‘n cheese, and margaritas (Margs aren’t exactly fall but it’s my favorite cocktail, so just go with it!).
My grandparent’s came over with their youngest grandchild, and I got this sweet picture of my grandmother with her youngest grandbaby and her only great-grand baby!

My mom had carnival games set up in the backyard. She taped small cones so that they looked like candy corn. With a glow in the dark necklace we played ring toss. Then there were pumpkin candy baskets at various distances that you had to throw a ping pong ball in. We also had a corn hole tournament. Unfortunately, I got out in the first round. My mom even had cash prizes for each of the games.

We were going to make s’mores for dessert, but I love a traditional chocolate birthday cake! I had seen an adorable heart-shaped cake a while ago and knew I wanted to use my heart pan this year to make a cake. I am so happy with how it turned out!
My mom created this adorable pumpkin scene in the back yard! Lottie was not a fan of sitting on the grass, but we did the best we could!

I felt so celebrated and just loved the family time. My mom is the queen of making people feel special, and I hope that I can make others feel this way as well.
